Where to Find BLUE BOTTLE COFFEE in NYC

Pass the Blue Bottle - My mantra, and that of so many other addicts who’ve been bitten by the Blue Bottle bug. Ever since discovering this San Francisco coffee roaster a few years ago in its hometown on the west coast, I’ve been experiencing California dreams from the east coast. I am just a fraction of the swelling caffeine cult following Blue Bottle Coffee has bred. Starting as a street cart serving coffee at California farmer’s markets in 2002, its bi-coastal expansion has dotted a cross-country trail leading straight to New York City. Alas, the boutique coffee trend of high-end varieties has swirled into our midst, but some manufacturers have remained more elusively underground and harder to find - Blue Bottle namely one of them. And with its Pacific-bred competitors like Starbucks and Stumptown on every corner (and in every borough), one wonders where else a Blue Bottle Coffee fix is possible.

A reserved sigh of relief was breathed upon learning owner James Freeman opened their only storefront cafe and roastery in Williamsburg, Brooklyn in March 2010 - reserved because it’s not the most convenient location for the wider non-L train riding NYC population. But thrilling buzz has surfaced that new store locations at Rockefeller Center and Chelsea’s 450 15th Street are projected to open by year-end.
